1:1 Chair yoga for seniors
Does this sound like you?
You have chronic aches and pains. Your doctor, your chiropractor, and even your kids have recommended yoga, but… you never do it. Why?
Maybe you’re skeptical about how much yoga would even help. Maybe you’re of the mindset that “old dogs can’t learn new tricks” and think it’s too late to learn a new form of exercise. Maybe you don’t have time to drive across town to visit a yoga studio. Maybe you have tried to take a studio class but found that it wasn’t well suited to your body’s needs and capabilities.
If you’re nodding your head “yes”, then here’s what I want to tell you…
You deserve well-being…
Regardless of your age or physical limitations, you deserve to feel vital in both body and mind. Unfortunately, the wellness industry primarily caters to young, able-bodied people. This can send the message that if you don’t fit that profile, then certain activities aren’t meant for you.
However, I firmly believe that mental and physical health is a right that all human-beings are fundamentally entitled to. I understand that all students are unique, and that’s why I’m so passionate about providing 1:1 yoga classes designed to accommodate a wide range of physical abilities, health conditions, and personal goals.
At Haiden’s Yoga Practice, I work hand-in-hand with you to create a personalized and enriching chair yoga program. My classes are specifically designed to cater to the unique needs and requirements of older adults, ensuring a safe, gentle, and enjoyable practice.
“Getting older makes you more alive. More vitality, more interest, more intelligence, more grace, more expansion.”
— Jamie Lee Curtis

How does it work?
My standard yoga class is 1 hour in length, with around 45-50 minutes dedicated to physical practice and 10-15 minutes set aside for meditation. However, I am happy to provide shorter or longer classes and/or offer a different ratio of physical vs. mindfulness practice to suit your preferences.
Most seniors find that chair yoga helps provide more stability to explore their strength and flexibility in a safe way. However, I am happy to provide traditional mat yoga classes if that is what better suits your goals and capabilities. The beauty of working 1:1 with a private yoga instructor is the ability to customize!

Is this right for me?
Maybe you’re interested in trying chair yoga but not quite sold on the idea of private yoga instruction. No worries, I also offer group classes if that’s more up your alley!
However, here are some signs you might be best suited to a 1:1 approach:
You have a specific health concern that you would like to address through chair yoga.
You have a disability or health condition that requires accommodations, difficult to provide in a group setting.
You’d like the convenience of flexible scheduling and practicing from the comfort of your own home.
You’d like a private and safe space to learn yoga at your own pace.
You’d like to receive more focused and personalized feedback during your chair yoga classes.

“In the beginning, I wasn’t too sure about Haiden. Although she is young, she is highly trained and knowledgeable. She has always been so kind and patient and listens to my needs, considering all of my physical limitations.”
